"Everyone's talking about Alexa... And it's very clear why!
No wonder A P Wilding is THE headshot choice for so many actors"
Sara Keel
I love what I do.
And often pinch myself as I can't quite believe I earn my living entirely from doing it.
To be able to help other actors in this industry by not only by shooting casting portraits that will open doors but to be able to share my many years ( cough… ) experience in this industry is something I am forever grateful for.
Originally I started out in fine art then moved to modelling/acting/singing and after 2 decades became a photographer. Initially I was shooting editorial/fashion photography then moved into performers headshots where I mostly spend my time for the last 10yrs.
I have seen life on both sides of the camera and ironically now understand the casting process far better than when I was acting. When I was casting for my own editorial shoots and booking models, I realised how very little time the viewer spends looking at an image before making a yes/no book them decision. Barely seconds. The decision is based on emotion and it happens in an instant.
I have since honed my work process aiming to shoot images that a casting director will instantly connect with – which will result in the actor being short listed.
What I am not.
I do not brag that I shoot 1000’s of people a year. In contrast, I have a bespoke approach and am proud to give a unique, customised experience to fewer clients, so you get return on investment ( i.e. you get shots that book you jobs.) I focus exclusively on you.
I do not give you what you may WANT to the detriment of what you actually NEED ( i.e. book you jobs). I find out what you and your agent require - it will be different if you are fresh out of drama school or if you have a major series coming out.
I do not give cookie cutter results with the same background, lighting and mood. This is your unique tailored branding session and your shots will reflect this.
You have me to help you throughout the entire process of prep, shooting and image selection. I can advise on your Spotlight profile and will stay in contact with you for support in the future if you should want/need it.
These were the things I would have loved when I was acting so feel it’s good karma to give back what I can now I am in a position to do so.
